Schemer was a surprise to us - the product of a moderate bitch to a moderate male, he was extremely typey and heavy-duty. For all of his extreme breed type, he was blessed with clear eyes, OFA certified hips and a playful, active nature.

You may know him as the sire of Martha Stewart's "Paw Paw", but he was our beloved "Rodent", who won the New York Specialty in 1994, the New England Specialty in 1994, 1995 and 1996 and the Southern Specialty in 1995. He was also a Canadian Champion, achieving that honor with 3 5 point majors - Winners Dog at the Canadian National when he was a youngster, and two Group One's when he was 8 years old.

Schemer was also a Register of Merit sire, recognized for his offspring's achievements by the National Chow club. We are looking forward to our first use of "Frozen Schemer" next year.
